to be held in many hearts

Rebounding, reflecting, and recalling past experiences, “to be held in many hearts,” choreographed by Meghan Allen in collaboration with the group of eight performers, explores ideas of influence, embodied memory, and how each moment shapes who one becomes. Finding acceptance in shifting spaces and fleeting moments, while carrying with us the remnants of experiences and people we have encountered, we have become who we are through connection, guidance, and love shared with others. Similarly, we leave a lasting impact on those we meet throughout our lives. Every moment contributes to the mosaic that makes up our being, informing how we navigate life. Just as we are held by many hands along the way, we are and will continue to be held in many hearts.

to be held by many hands

As a solo work choreographed and performed by Meghan Allen, “to be held by many hands” observes and embodies her questioning of what it means to grow into oneself with the guidance of others. Nostalgic for the past and the present passing with an inability to hold on to everything. The remnants of those we love sculpting us. Gathering. Collecting. Holding and feeling held. At our core, we become mosaics of everyone we have ever loved; A reflection of what we continue to carry with us.
